Open the Vlorë guide →Where do Sazan and Karaburun boat trips leave from?
From Vlorë's seafront and from the Orikum and Radhimë area further south.
Tour stands and small operators sell trips on the waterfront. Check what is included — stops, drinks, time on Sazan — before paying.
What is there to see on Sazan Island?
Abandoned military buildings and bunkers from the communist era, plus clear-water swimming spots.
The island is part of the Karaburun-Sazan Marine Park, Albania's first marine protected area. Stay on paths and don't enter unstable buildings.
What is Haxhi Ali Cave?
A large sea cave on the Karaburun peninsula, once used as a hideout and for military purposes; boats can enter it when the sea is calm.
When is the best time to go?
Calm mornings in June, July and September. Trips are cancelled in rough sea.
Bring a hat, sunscreen and water — there is little shade on the boats.
