Open the driving guide →Is it easy to park in Tirana?
No. The centre, Blloku and the area around Skanderbeg Square are busy, and street spaces fill quickly.
Traffic is heavy at rush hour. If your hotel has no parking, ask them which garage they use.
How much does parking cost in Tirana?
Garages and paid lots usually charge by the hour, with prices that can add up for a full day in the centre.
Ask the price before you leave the car, and keep the ticket — you pay when you exit.
Will my car be towed?
It can be, if parked on pavements, bus lanes, crossings or marked no-parking areas.
If your car disappears, call your rental company and the police on 129 to find out where it was taken.
Should I have a car in Tirana at all?
Not usually. The centre is walkable and taxis are cheap. Pick the car up when you leave the city.
Tirana Airport has many rental desks and the airport bus runs to the city centre, so you can avoid city driving completely.
