Is Albania good for families?

Yes. Albanians are very warm with children, food is familiar and beaches are calm in summer.

Pavements can be uneven and some old towns are steep — a carrier is easier than a stroller.

Which beaches suit young children?

Sandy, shallow beaches: Durrës, Golem, Velipojë and parts of Ksamil.

Many Riviera beaches are pebbly — water shoes help.

How do we get around with kids?

A rental car or private transfer is easiest. Furgons rarely have seatbelts or child seats.

Reserve child seats with the rental company and check them on pickup.

What about health and heat?

July and August can exceed 35 °C. Plan mornings and evenings outdoors, carry water and sun protection.

Pharmacies are easy to find; see our healthcare guide for hospitals.
